Holiday Sales & Freebies!

Yay holidays!  I love holidays.

Soooo, for my books enrolled in Kindle Select, I can do sales and freebie promotions and that's what I'm doing for all the books that are so enrolled.  These are the books that are ONLY available on Amazon (because that's what's required for a book to be part of Kindle Select).  If you haven't picked them up in the past, you can now own any of the $0.99 - $1.99 for free and the $2.99 for only $0.99 starting TODAY!.

What's available?

Golden Angel titles (all for free!):
Wanna Bet
Office Play
Forced Bet (Poker Loser Trilogy Book 1)
Back in the Game (Poker Loser Trilogy Book 2)
Winning Hand (Poker Loser Trilogy Book 3)
Sara's Private Dick (Did an oopsie on this one - it will be free Dec 25-29)

Dark Angel titles (for free!):
Consequences Part I
Consequences Part II
Spanking Karla
Demon Duo

Dark Angel titles on sale for $0.99 (till New Years Eve!):
Exclusively Anal
Hathor: Milking Meggie

So those are all the end of year specials.  I'm doing this in part because starting in 2016, I'm also going to need to raise the prices on my books.  This past year I've started investing more money into my writing (with things like the website) and so this year my books are going to start being $3.99 regular prices.  However, for the first week following each book's release, they will be the usual $2.99 so that loyal fans who keep up with my Facebook, blog, Twitter and newsletter will have a chance to get it at the usual price you've been paying.  So if you're reading this, that means that the price increase should hopefully not effect you!  (Part of the perks of being a loyal fan).

Announcements about 2016 will be coming in my next blog, but in the meantime, enjoy the sale!  Thank you SO MUCH all you loyal readers who purchased them when they first became available... it kind of stinks that first buyers don't get the sale price, but I don't really know how to fix that... well, other than with what I'm doing from this point forward, which is making the sale price for the initial week and then keeping the new price afterward.  Anyway.

I hope everyone has a happy holiday!  Check in next week to find out what's coming up in 2016!

Breaking the Chain - Now Available on Nook too!

Nook has FINALLY gotten its act together and now Breaking the Chain is available on all the places!

Amazon
Barnes & Noble
Smashwords

So far everyone seems to be enjoying it!  Thank you so much those of you who have left reviews or sent me feedback =)  The best Christmas present you can leave me is definitely a review!  Although the Stronghold series is dear to my heart, it doesn't seem to be quite as popular as some of my other series, so extra reviews always help ;)  Thank you so much everyone!

New Release - Breaking the Chain

Sorry guys - Breaking the Chain actually came out yesterday on Amazon and Smashwords but it STILL isn't out for the Nook.  I have no idea why Barnes & Noble is taking so long, but I decided I'm not waiting for them any longer, I'm gonna go ahead and post!  And I'll just update this entry when they finally catch up (hopefully tomorrow?)

Jared and Leigh both know what it's like to be trapped in a seven year relationship where they give more than they get, the question is whether or not they can move on from them.

Two steps forward, one step back. That's how Jared's life feels when it comes to his ex Marissa. Every time he thinks he's escaped the vortex of her emotional demands, she ends up sucking him right back in; but for the first time, he thinks he might have the strength to pull free entirely. At least he hopes so. Right now it just seems like he's hurting everyone around him and he doesn't know how to make it right.

Leigh Douglas spent seven years with the man she thought she would one day marry, but she's now realized that she needs him to fight just as hard for her as she always fought for him. Since he won't, she's working on getting over him and finding someone who won't take her for granted. On the other side of the equation, she's definitely falling for Jared, but he's still entangled with his ex. No one can understand the hooks that Marissa has in him like Leigh can, but that doesn't mean that she's willing to take the back-seat again in another relationship.

As Jared tries to side-step his ex and Leigh takes her first steps into the domination and submission-filled world of the Stronghold club, their friends hold a collective breath as everyone wonders whose heart will be broken in the end.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

One of my favorite holidays =)  I love having a whole day acknowledging the things in life we have to be grateful for, because often so much of our lives are taken for granted.  The less one has, the more grateful they tend to be for what they do have, so I try to keep that in mind throughout the year and be grateful for all the wonderful things that I do have!

At the top of my life of the things I'm grateful for is YOU!  All my readers, but especially those of you who read my blog or follow my Facebook / Twitter or receive my newsletters and give me encouragement throughout the year.  While I would probably write anyway, even if no one was reading while I'm writing, knowing that people actually enjoy what I'm putting out is one of the biggest warm fuzzies in my life.  There's a feeling of accomplishment that comes with that, and being able to do something that I love and am successful at it is just incredible.  Having people who like my writing enough to follow me on social media is what keeps me motivated to write as much as I do =)

I'm so grateful for every review, every comment, every 'like', every re-tweet, every email... just all of it.

I can't wait for next month and to share the next Stronghold book with you all.  For the holiday, here's another little tease!

Ah, fuck it.
There were so many reasons this could be a bad idea, but Leigh didn't care right now.  Spending time with Jared made her happy.  Being in his arms made her happy.  And she'd had very little true happiness in so long that she just decided to clutch it with both hands and deal with the aftermath later.  That was future Leigh's problem, if it even turned out to be a problem.  Tomorrow, if he woke up and realized he'd made a mistake and that he wanted to get back together with Marissa, because she was finally willing to fight for him, Leigh would be fine.  A little sad, maybe a little hurt, and definitely a little jealous, but overall fine.
There had been very few times in Leigh's life that she'd thrown all caution to the wind and decided fuck the consequences... even now, she was sure that no matter what happened between her and Jared eventually, they would be adult about it.  There would be no recriminations or drama because of this, because they just weren't those kind of people.
So fuck it.  She was going for what she wanted in the moment, living in the present, and god it felt so good.
The heady rush of pleasure that washed over her was nothing compared to the tsunami of sensation that followed as Jared's reaction vaulted from shock to aroused acceptance.  She might have started the kiss, but he took control of it almost immediately, his arms tightening around her as he twisted, bearing her down to the bed.  It wasn't a throwdown... but close enough to make Leigh's pussy clench with eagerness.
She hadn't had sex in so long either... and Leigh liked sex.  Loved sex.  Wanted sex with Jared.  In fact, right now would be totally okay, before he changed his mind.  While part of her knew that she was throwing sanity to the wind in favor of her libido, the other parts of her didn't care.  Specifically her naughty parts.
One hand clutched at his shoulder as the other tried to slide between their bodies... yeah, she was going straight for the cock.  What could she say?  It had been way too long since she'd touched one.  Having him hold her, having him explain his feelings to her while he did so, and realizing that his actions earlier were a misguided attempt to protect her, was way better than any physical foreplay.

At least she thought so until his hands grabbed her wrists, yanking them above her head so that she was pinned down underneath him on the bed, her legs hanging off the edge.  Leigh had always been drawn to take charge men anyway, but being manhandled like this?  Being held down while he kissed her so deeply and desperately, while she writhed underneath him and felt his cock pressing up against her pussy through their clothes?  This was what she fantasized about when she masturbated.

Mid-Month Check In

I can't believe it's already the middle of November.

I also can't believe I really thought I'd have Breaking the Chain done in time for a November 15th release.  *sigh*  Yeah, that was some serious wishful thinking.

It's going to be released on December 15th instead.  I've got about 4-5 chapters left to write, then I'm going out of town right after Thanksgiving and then I'll be editing my butt off =)  It's possible that this book may go up early for pre-order just because of the chain of events... it depends on whether or not I manage to finish it before leaving for vacation.  I think I can get it done in time, but I'm not sure.  Either way, December 15th will be the official release date.

I'm pretty stoked abut it.  I'm always excited at the end of the book because that's when things start getting really climactic =)  Especially this book!  Drama drama drama.  SO much fun.

I'm really looking forward to my vacation though; I need to get away for a bit and recoup!  This is going to be an actual vacation too.  No day trips pre-planned, no events that I have to go to, nothing that I have to dress up for... as much as I love all of those things, I'm seriously just looking forward to hot weather, beach days, and spending some time with my family and hubby.  Serious relaxation ahead!  I desperately need it.

So what's meaner... ending this super short blog update with no tease?  Or ending it with a tiny tease that gives away no real information?

Oh heck, let's just go with the latter ;)

Sharon's dark eyes were sparkling with mischief.  It was obvious she was brimming with a secret that she was dying to share.  "Aren't you wondering why Andrew's not behind the bar?  And where Kate is?"

Cover Reveal & Update

Okay, so I'm going to try to be better about updating my blog this month!  Cuz I was pretty bad about it last month.

For starters... unfortunately I'm definitely not going to have Breaking the Chain done in time for a November 15th release date.  I'm 2/3 of the way through the book and it's going really well, but I've still got a bit to go.  So far I'm really enjoying it the story and I think (hope) everyone else will too when it is released!  The new release date is December 15th.  Due to Thanksgiving and the fact that I'm going out of town for a week during the holiday and won't be able to write, I had to push the release back a whole month.  Super sucky, but I'm hoping that everyone will feel it was worth the wait!  Jared and Leigh have been messing around with the original outline (as my characters always do) and I think some good stuff has come out of it.  I think I'm about 5-6 chapters away from finishing the book right now, which is a pretty good place to be.

After Breaking the Chain comes out, I will be working on the second book in the Bridal Discipline series, but I won't be focusing on it.  I'm going to be hauling butt to try to get Marriage Training to the agent, finally, and then focusing on getting a surprise project finished and some more Dark Angel titles out (second book in the Planets Apart series and some that are re-writes of Literotica work).  This isn't because I want to step back from the BD series, but because during the busy season of my day job, I have very little time / energy and it will be easier for me to work on things that aren't 100% new.  Also because I REALLY need to finish MT for the agent.  The good news is that I will be planning to release a book a month between January - April, but the bad news is that Gabrielle's Discipline probably own't be out till May / June depending on how much work I manage to get done on it while everything else is going on.

Anyway...

Back to Breaking the Chain!  Here's the GORGEOUS cover by the incredibly talented RaineyCloud9! (jic you missed it on Facebook or Twitter)

Bad Angel! (and a teaser)

Holy crap I've been a bad girl about blogging this month!

My only excuse is that I've had a lot going on, so I kept forgetting to update the blog.  I did get out a newsletter though!  With a special, super long, teaser from Breaking the Chain.  If you want to get the newsletter, and those fun little extras which you can't get anywhere else, you can sign up at my website - http://goldeniangel.squarespace.com/

It's still under construction but it's looking good!  I've decided to have the wonderful woman who originally designed it for me both finish it and do the upkeep because it was taking time away from me that I would really rather use for more writing.  That I NEED for more writing.  Ugh.

I'm a bit behind on Breaking the Chain.  It's just not coming quite as quickly as I would have liked it to.  I'm still trying for November 15th, but it's more likely to be a December 15th release date.  After that, I'm going to start on book 2 of the Bridal Discipline series, although that won't be out till the Spring.  In the meantime, I'm going to do a couple of Dark Angel releases, which are actually re-writes of stories I've already done for Literotica... these are easier for me to do because I'm not writing a whole new story.  Since I'll be super busy at my day job starting in January, I figured that was a good way to keep releasing material even though I'll be slower at writing the main stuff.

Anyway.  Here's a teaser from Breaking the Chain... and keep an eye out for the cover reveal which is coming soon =)

What have I gotten myself into?!
Even though she’d literally just asked Jared for this, Leigh couldn’t help the feelings of uncertainty and doubt that were creeping through her.  Now that she was being faced with the reality of a spanking, his big hands and strong arms suddenly didn’t seem quite so fascinating.  Scary was more like it.  He looked up at her, calm and implacable as he patted his leg again, indicating where she was to drape herself across him for her spanking.
But with her pants down?
“You can keep your underwear on,” he said, as if reading her mind – or maybe her consternation was just that easy to read, “but a spanking over jeans doesn’t do much good, so they need to come off.”
"Right," she muttered, slightly sarcastically as she fumbled with the button for her jeans.  Because the fabric was just sooooooooo thick.
Am I seriously doing this?!
It appeared that she was.  Blushing furiously, she quickly shoved down her jeans to her knees and practically threw herself across Jared's lap.  Not that she really minded him seeing her in her underwear, but these weren't exactly the circumstances that she'd pictured it happening.  It was more embarrassing than sexy to be stripped down to her panties... a little exciting too, but she couldn't help but feel shy.
The rumbling chuckle that followed her ungraceful flop just made her blush harder, but embarrassment wasn't the emotion which spread warmth through her body when Jared's big hand came down to rest on her butt cheek.  He really did have huge hands!  Just one covered most of her cheek, and it wasn't like she had a small ass.  Her hips, butt and thighs were kind of out of proportion with her slim upper body, but it didn't seem like Jared was complaining as he caressed her.
The warmth spreading through her pooled in her center, making her pussy get even wetter.  Especially when she felt the hard bulge of his cock pressing against her side.  But she wasn't supposed to be this turned on, was she?
"Um, aren't you supposed to be spanking me?" she asked as she squirmed slightly, trying to find a more comfortable position to look over her shoulder at him.  It was hard to without craning her neck.
Jared gave her butt a light slap, more sound than sensation, but it was enough to make her jump slightly in surprise.
"Part of a spanking is the waiting... if it's a pleasurable spanking, that's to build your anticipation in a good way, if it's a punishment spanking it's to give you time to think about why you're in this position."
"So which is this?" she asked, even though she knew she'd requested this spanking as a punishment.  She gave up trying to look at him and instead focused on the fabric of his couch and the wood grain next to the rug on his floor, which she could actually look at without hurting her neck.  A shiver went down her spine as he rubbed his hand across her ass, as if readying the whole surface in preparation for what was to come.  The fabric of her panties was much thinner than her jeans, and she was feeling really grateful that she hadn't worn a thong, even if the flimsy underwear wasn't exactly protection.
"Well I'd hate for you to get a bad impression of spankings," he said, sounding amused.  "So let's start with giving you an idea of what a pleasurable spanking is like and then I'll give you a taste of a punishment spanking, since you were a very bad girl today."
The last part of his speech could have sounded corny or sexy, but in Jared's deep tones that didn't contain even a hint of amusement anymore, it sounded kind of scary.
But she didn't have a whole lot of time to dwell on it because-
SLAP!

"Oh!"

Happy October Teaser!

Happy October!!!!

I adore October.  Partly because Halloween is my second favorite holiday (Christmas being my #1).  Also because, even though I hate scary movies and tv shows (they give me nightmares), and I'm terrified of scary books (I pile stuff on top of them when I'm done reading and leave them on a diff floor of the house so that I can go to sleep at night), there's a very small part of me that kind of likes being creeped out.  Just a little bit though.  And by a little bit, I mean I was worried about watching Scream Queens (which I started watching last night and am loving.).  Fortunately the Supernatural series seems to have helped me become a little bit more hardened when it comes to scary stuff.  Although I'm not ready for American Horror Story yet, even the previews to those give me the heebie jeebies.

I am hard at work on Breaking the Chain and truly enjoying what's going on so far.  Even more enjoying that the characters are working with me for once instead of going off on their own tangents lol.  Hopefully I can stay on schedule!  I'm aiming for a November release... it'll def be out before Christmas but I'd really love to have it out before Thanksgiving if I can!

Anyway, since it's October, to cheer myself up from the grey gloomy rain that the hurricane is causing on the East Coast, I thought I'd tap into my sadist side and torture you all with a very short tease... I love this scene because I feel like Jared is finally coming into his own and I've been waiting to see this happen!

"Can we just be friends for now?"  Leigh cringed almost as soon as the words were out of her mouth.  Ugh, how arrogant did she sound, as if she assumed that he had broken up with Marissa for her!  Assuming that he was telling her because he wanted to try and date her now... again... whatever the hell they'd been doing before Marissa had come back.  Hanging out.
Jared's mouth quirked in a smile, reassuring her.  "Of course."  But then he stepped forward, his focus narrowing, and his eyes were suddenly hot and hungry and so very intent... Leigh felt her thighs clenching, pressing down on her pussy as Jared suddenly, and for the first time, went completely Dom on her.  He leaned down and her heart pounded as she wondered if he might try to kiss her.  Instead, his mouth bypassed her lips and cheek and he whispered in her ear.  "As long as you know I'll be trying to change your mind."
Oh geezus... his deep, velvety voice rumbled through her and she felt her nipples tightening.  For the first time ever, she felt completely off balance around him.  Yes, she'd been attracted to him for a while.  Yes, she loved it when he touched her and seemed to be protective of her.  Yes, she'd thought he was hot.  Yes, some part of her had responded when he'd found out about her high blood sugar and had said he'd spank her if she was his sub and he found out she was risking her health that way.
None of that compared to right now. It was as if some kind of switch had flipped within him, now that he'd sent Marissa on her way and she'd gone.  A switch that had set free a side to him that he hadn't really used with Leigh before.
Sweet jeebus it was hot.
"Come on, little girl," Jared said as he straightened, before wrapping his arm around her shoulders.  Leigh's nipples throbbed as his hand dangled down near her breast and she had to quell the urge to twist her body so that he'd actually be touching her there.  "Let's get back to the party."
Her knees actually felt shaky as he led her back to the kitchen.
Apparently the party had split up a bit, because the kitchen was full of dominants without a subbie in sight.  Even Olivia was up here, standing and talking with Andrew and Michael.  When she saw Jared and Leigh walking into the room, her grey eyes flashed approval and Leigh stifled the urge to stick out her tongue at the nosy Domme.  Everyone knew that Olivia hated Marissa.  Leigh had a feeling that Olivia would cheer for Jared having sexual relations with an animal before getting back together with his ex.

Slightly relieved to have an excuse to get away from Jared, whose presence she suddenly felt both uneasy and exhilarated by, she scampered downstairs to where the submissives were.  She needed to recover her equilibrium.  Who knew that Jared going all sexy and commanding on her would rock her so badly?  Even being called little girl had made her go squishy inside, and he'd called her that plenty of times before... it was just, somehow different now even if she couldn't put her finger on exactly why.

Ramble Rumble

It was pointed out to me that it's been 5 days since my last post, and since I know I'm not going to post another one in the next couple days (going out of town for a wedding, as well as celebrating mine and Hubby's wedding anniversary tomorrow!) I figured I'd come on here and ramble a bit about what I'm up to lately.

If you follow my facebook, you already know that I've rewritten the entire outline for Breaking the Chain.  Lots of things changed when I decided to write Pieces of Stronghold.  I introduced Kate an entire book earlier than I meant to; originally the scene where she comes to defend Leigh in the parking lot was slated to happen towards the end of Leigh's book.  But I like it better this way because she and Andrew (and everyone else) will have more time to adjust to her presence.  Things are going to be dramatic enough between them anyway.

Speaking of drama... Breaking might be the most dramatic book in the series so far.  I'll give the same spiel I gave Facebook - there's gonna be crazy "take me back" antics, a public spanking, almost sex between exes, magic pussy, a proposal, a rejection of a proposal, a fight, some injuries, a hospital visit and a pregnancy.  I'm pretty freaking excited about all of it.  Granted, my characters don't always follow the outline they're given, but I think Jared and Leigh might be a little different.  They seem to like the re-write and so far I haven't had to do any new re-writes =P Which is unusual and exciting LOL

Ack.  Anyway.  I haven't started yet on any new Lit stories.  Things have just been crazy.  IRL I have all my cosplay stuff that's going on, my friends, a wedding this weekend, my family, and hubby... our 4 year wedding anniversary is tomorrow =)  Our tradition is to order Chinese food and watch our wedding video, usually followed by sex and then watching something nerdy.  Lately we've been watching the Netflix Daredevil tv series.  It's not my favorite superhero tv series, but it's soooooo much better than the Ben Affleck movie.  Then we have to get up super early on Friday morning to head to the airport.  It'll be nice to get away for the weekend and celebrate good friends getting married =D  Plus... hotel sex.  I don't know why but hubby and I just love hotel sex.

So ah... after that TMI back to my writing stuff lol.  Another reason I haven't been getting much done for Lit is that I've been working on two other projects when I'm not in the mood for Breaking, but I am going to try to get something done for the website soon.

In the meantime... Philip's Rules might be my most popular book to date and I just want to thank you all for reading / leaving reviews.  I love that book and I'm so happy and excited that everyone else seems to also.  It's been super exciting lately because as I scroll through the "if you like this, you might like this" feed on Amazon of the books I'm reading, suddenly MY book will pop up!  Right alongside major authors that are published through a publishing company!  And every time it's like Christmas for me =)  So thank you all very, VERY much for reading, leaving reviews, making recommendations, and giving me warm fuzzies on the regular =)

Breaking the Chain Teaser

That's right!  It's time!  I have enough for a teaser =)  Super stoked about this book.  I'll admit, I haven't done a whole ton of writing on it in the past few weeks but it's def where all my focus is now =)  WOOT!

4 pm.
Leigh stared at her phone.  She'd been texting Jared at this time, every day, for weeks until yesterday.  They'd been... not dating exactly, but not not dating. Ugh.  Being single was so confusing.  They'd been seeing each other.  Talking every day.  She hadn't realized how much she'd come to rely on sending him a stupid joke at 4pm, every day, and getting some kind of response from him until yesterday, when it hadn't happened.
It was like a craving.
Just text him.
Friends could still text each other.  And Jared had said that no matter what happened, he still wanted to be friends.  Leigh wanted that too.
She didn't blame him for needing some space.  His ex, Marissa, had turned up on his doorstep, promising him everything he'd ever wanted from her.  They had seven years of history together.  Seven years of effort, of trying to make their relationship work.  She and Jared had been seeing each other, sort of, for maybe a couple months?
Yeah, in a romance novel, Marissa and Jared would be the main story line.  The second chance romance.  The woman who realizes everything she's about to lose and goes to make the effort to keep her man.  Leigh would be the other woman.  The stalker 'date' who wouldn't let go.  The bad guy.
Leigh's own story line was much more depressing.  Definitely not a romance.  Lately it kind of felt like a soap opera.  She was the girl no one wanted.  Not even the guy she'd been trying to make things work with for seven years.  Michael, her ex-boyfriend, the man she'd thought was the love of her life, her soulmate, her everything, hadn't been satisfied with just her.  He'd wanted to date other women.  To know what it was like to have sex with other women.  Until this most recent break up, they'd only ever had sex with each other.
Since the break up, Leigh had slept with a couple of guys.  Enough to know that, while sex could be fun without emotion, she preferred it with.  It was definitely more fun with.  Unfortunately, Michael didn't want to get back together and the only other guy that she'd started to feel emotions for... well, they hadn't gotten that far before his ex had shown up on the scene.
Ugh.
Lucky bastard.
It didn't really hurt that much.  Compared to having her heart ripped out of her chest and crushed by Michael, this little scratch by Jared was next to nothing.  She'd cried a little bit over it, of course.  She really did like Jared and she felt a little bruised, but she also felt happy for him.  Jared deserved to be happy and she was glad that his story was getting the fairy tale ending it deserved.
She might have also cried a little bit because she was envious.  Part of her wanted to scream - why him?  Why not me?
What was it about Jared that had brought Marissa back to him that Leigh didn't have?  Why didn't Michael want her back?
Yeah, he called sometimes.  Yeah, he'd been pissed about her sleeping with other guys - although she thought that might be because, so far, he hadn't managed to do the same with another woman.  But he didn't want her back even though he didn't want her with other guys.  But he wasn't willing to give up trying to date other women.  Asshole wanted to have his cake and eat it too.
Sometimes she really hated him.
Yet, she knew that if he'd come back... would she have given up Jared?
The idea of completely giving up on Michael was so foreign to her.  They'd been through so much together.  She still missed him, as if he was a limb that had suddenly dropped off.  Michael hadn't just been her boyfriend, he'd been her best friend.  She still found herself wanting to call him when something funny happened to her.  Or to pick up a six pack of his favorite seasonal beer when she was at the store.  Having Jared had helped a lot with all of that.
Was she just sad because Jared was a distraction from Michael and now he was gone?
No.  It might be partly that, but it was so much more complicated.  Spending time with Jared had made her happy.  He didn't try to change her.  He didn't judge anything she said.  Michael's job had started to grind away at their relationship; he'd wanted her to look differently, act differently, from the person she'd always been, to be the person he thought she needed to be in order to help him advance.  She'd tried, she really had, but she'd felt so stifled.  So boxed in.  Being with Jared made her feel free, especially because he really seemed to like who she was.  He liked it when she was silly.  It made him laugh and that made her feel good because she liked to see him laugh...
Ah fuck it.
She was going to text him.
But what?  A joke didn't seem quite right... maybe a quote... or a funny picture...
Ten minutes later, Leigh was still scrolling almost aimlessly through her phone when she finally saw it.  The exact perfect thing to send.
Her stomach churned with anxiousness as she typed it out, but when she hit the send button, her shoulders felt lighter too.  No matter what, at least she'd reached out.  At least she'd tried.
She and Jared could still be friends.  They hadn't gone very far with the whole dating thing anyway.  Leigh didn't want to just give up, she wanted to keep him as a friend.  Not to mention, it could make their whole social group very awkward if they weren't.

Still, she vowed to herself that if he didn't text back, or if he didn't seem that enthused about her texting him, she would let it go.  Not cling.  Not try to hold onto something that wasn't there.  She wasn't going to be the villainess in his story.

I'm back!

I'm back from DragonCon!

My head is still not on straight though.  It's all cosplaycosplaycosplay up in here.  Doesn't help that I have a possible photo shoot this upcoming weekend and a definite one next weekend, and then a wedding to go to in Denver the weekend after that!  EEP.  Talk about overscheduling myself.  UGH.  Why do I do this?

I've told my friends that I'm a cosplay masochist because I always choose complicated shit (which is kind of good cuz it's always pushing me to learn new things and improve) but now I'm starting to think that maybe I'm a life masochist too.

MY MASOCHISM TRANSCENDS INTO ALL ASPECTS OF MY LIFE!

So, good news, something new is coming out soon, mostly because I had nothing to do with it!  I'm reviewing the audio book for The Venus School and so far it's sounding AMAZING.  Love the girl who's doing the reading, I think she's got a super sexy voice.  I've just gotta finish the review and approve the book so hopefully that should be available sometime next week!  YAY!  If it seems like it's something people are into, hopefully she'll be willing to do the second book as well =)

In the meantime... I've overscheduled my writing stuff as well.  Because I'm a writing masochist.  My  main focus is on Breaking the Chain, but I also have a commissioned work that I've gotta finish by next Friday, as well as trying to finish Marriage Training for the poor writing agent who has been waiting fricking forever.  On the side I also have the reader requests for Literotica, my next Dark Angel book, and a surprise book that I'm hoping to have up for pre-sales by March (my first pre-sales book!) that will release April 1st.

All this while doing my usual life stuff of fall Renn Fair, cosplay, friends' birthdays (I swear, they were all born in the fall!), my wedding anniversary (this month), holidays. spending time with friends and family, and my day job.

#transcendentmasochism

But like a true masochist... I do it because I love it.  Even when it hurts.

Website & Stuff

I have a website!  It's not complete yet, but it's got some stuff up already - http://goldeniangel.squarespace.com/

Hopefully I'll have time to complete it soon =)

Things have been crazy!  Philip's Rules is doing really well, and going by the reviews people are excited by it which is awesome!  It has seven 5-Star reviews on Amazon US already, which I SUPER appreciate.  I am definitely looking forward to the next one, Gabrielle and Felix's story, but before that we're heading back to modern times and Stronghold!  I just got started on Leigh and Jared again and I'm already enjoying myself, which is great =)  It's a little hard to get back into the modern mindset, but it's good for me too.  And meanwhile, Gabrielle and Felix are percolating a little bit.

I think one of my favorite things about writing is that I don't always know where the stories are going to go.  Philip and Cordelia ended up having a kink that I'd never planned on - naughty couple that they are - which was a lot of fun.  Gabrielle acted out in different ways than expected, leading to some of the twists.  My plot outlines are ever changing!

As evidenced by the beginning of Breaking the Chain.  I'm still in the first chapter and Leigh and Jared have already deviated some from the plotline... partly because they're doing their own thing instead of what I had originally based the plot line on, which was the beginning of mine and hubby's relationship.  Making their own decisions and what not, which is certainly not a bad thing!  It's just funny to me how the characters can really end up messing around with my plans =D  I like it that way though, because I figure if I'm surprised by what they're doing, then you guys will be too!

Anyway, I'm going to give it another week and then I'll be posting my first teaser for Breaking the Chain =)  In the meantime, keep enjoying Philip's Rules!  Tell your friends!  Leave reviews! lol.

Happy Birthday / Release Day To Me!

It's my birthday and Philip's Rules is now available!

Married once to a Baron who needed a young bride to bear him an heir, Cordelia Astley found herself in an untenable situation after his death until Philip Stanley, the Marquess of Dunbury, asked her to be his bride. She knows he didn't marry her for love, but he was her white knight and, once they're married, she finds herself falling in love with him. It would be a fairy tale ending if it wasn't for her stepdaughter Gabrielle.

Having observed his cousins Hugh and Eleanor find happiness in their respective marriages, Philip doesn't see why his marriage should be any different. Especially since he managed to find a giving, submissive, delightful woman that drew him like no woman had ever done before. Everything would be perfect, except that she allows her stepdaughter to denigrate her and manipulate her. His method of correction for both Cordelia and Gabrielle isn't what either lady expected, but Cordelia finds confidence in his support and care of her... if only she would put him first instead of Gabrielle, Philip's life would be perfect.

A sexy spanking tale of desire, passion and love, Philip's Rules is the first of a new series spin-off of the Domestic Discipline Quartet (you do not need to read the quartet to enjoy this book).

Philip's Rules is an 80,000 word standalone novel set in Victorian times with a HEA and contains domestic discipline, spanking, birching, paddling, anal play and sex, the exciting danger of illicit situations, and some seriously delicious alpha men.

On Schedule!

YAY!  So far I am on schedule to get Philip's Rules out for my birthday on August 15th =)  WOOT!

I should be finishing the last chapter and writing the epilogue today.  This week has had a LOT of writing time shoved into it, but it's been good... I had the time for it this week, which was nice.  I'm really happy with how the book has gone so far, I'm getting good feedback from the beta readers, and I'm already looking forward to the rest of the series =)

I'm also hoping to have my first newsletter out sometime this month!  I'll have a link up sometime next week for sign-ups.  I'm not as good about updating the blog as I have been in the past anymore, I'm just too busy, and I won't be abandoning the blog, but I feel like the newsletter is a good option for people who aren't as interested in reading the blog posts but DO want to know when the next book is coming out.  Because, let's be honest, sometimes I just ramble on here and not everyone wants to know what's going through my head during the writing process, which I totally get.

In other news, I've (finally) started on reader requests for Lit.  The first thing I'm doing is re-writing Chapter 9 of Contest, which was a request made a LONG time ago and I'm excited to finally get to it.  It's certainly the most lacking chapter of that series and I'm going to enjoy doing it justice.  It's also probably going to be a couple chapters long.  I'm a little disappointed in myself for putting up so much information packed into such a short chapter the first time around.  At the time, I was doing the Survivorphile contest, which involved quantity over quality, but I was really trying not to let the quality of my stories suffer, and on that chapter I definitely fell short of that goal.  Soooo I'm really happy that I got a request to re-write it and I can now fix that!

And, of course, once Philip's Rules is complete and out, book-wise I will be turning my focus back to Stronghold to pick up Leigh and Jared's story where it left off!  I'm looking forward to that although I'm also super into the new Bridal Discipline series.  It's always fun having two series that I'm so inspired by!

Philip's Rules - Teaser

I think this is going to be the last teaser before the book comes out =)  SUPER excited.  I've only got about 4-5 more chapters to go I think... I'm really enjoying this book and I'm hoping you guys will too!  Also, once I manage to wrap it up, I really am going to get something out for Literotica.  I know I've been super bad about not focusing on that at all.  My mind has been super focused on Philip's Rules, which is def not a bad thing since it's coming out so soon!

Anyway, here's the teaser.  Enjoy and have a great weekend! -

"Sweetheart?"  Philip's fingers tipped her chin up to look at him as he peered at her in concern and she realized she'd started woolgathering.
Licking her suddenly dry lips, she scrambled to form a coherent response.  "I don't know..."
Her voice trailed off, because she didn't know exactly what she wanted to say.  The emotions swirling inside of her weren't just confusing, they were inappropriate.  She couldn't possibly tell Philip that she didn't want him to punish Gabrielle because she didn't want her stepdaughter so close to him, physically.  Gabrielle had poached Cordelia's suitors before, but it was obviously something that Philip hadn't fallen for.  But, for the first time, Cordelia found that she had something she considered hers, that she didn't want to share.
Something hot flared in Philip's eyes.  A look that Cordelia already recognized and, after last night, finally understood the full ramifications of.
"I'd be happy to show you, sweetheart."
Not understand but willing to led Philip lead the way, she didn't protest or try to pull away as he led her over to the chair behind his desk.  When he suddenly tugged her over his lap, so that her stomach was resting on his hard thighs, Cordelia let out a frightened squeak.  Her heart was suddenly pounding as she realized how very vulnerable she was.  It was one thing to know how much bigger and stronger her husband was than her, it was another to have it demonstrated so clearly.
When he flipped her skirts up, tipping her further forward so that she had to put out her hands to keep balanced on his lap, Cordelia finally came to her senses.  She tried to squirm away, but his hand on her waist kept her easily in place.
"Philip!  No!" she squeaked, her voice not nearly as firm or demanding as she wanted it to be.
"Now, if you were Gabrielle, I wouldn't have you over my lap," he said, in a lecturing tone of voice, completely ignoring her protest.  A warm hand rested on the curve of her derriere, making her skin heat through her drawers. "Wives go over laps.  Gabrielle will bend over my desk or the arm of one of the chairs.  However, she'll get to keep her drawers."  Cordelia squeaked again as she felt her own drawers being slid down her body, baring the pale curves of her bottom cheeks.  "You'll be spanked on your bare bottom when you're naughty."
Philip's hand caressed her smooth skin and then gave her cheek a light tap, just hard enough to sting.  Strangely, a frisson of pleasure went through her body at the little slap, making her bite her lip to keep from gasping.  Even though Eleanor and Irene had mentioned pleasure, Cordelia found it extremely embarrassing considering her current predicament.
"Should I show you now?"  Her husband's voice was teasing, flirting, as his fingers stroked her cheeks.  Even so, Cordelia immediately tried to wriggle away.

"No, thank you!  I understand perfectly now, thank you!"

Cover Reveal - Philip's Rules

RaineyCloud9 has done an absolutely GORGEOUS job on the cover for my new series!!! I'm so excited to share it with you all =)

I'm super stoked about this series, especially with amazing covers like this!  Just looking at it makes me happy =)  Hopefully the book will be worth of the cover!

I'm aiming for an August 15th release date and I think I can make that... *crosses fingers*  There's still a lot of work to be done on it, but I'm moving along pretty quickly too =)

Sadly, I have been getting very little done for any other books (well, other than Marriage Training, which is also moving along nicely, but that's a separate thing at this point) or for Literotica.  My head is all wound up in DragonCon, which is coming up so fast!!! Only 40 more days till I head down to Atlanta, and that means only 40 more days to get all my costume pieces together.  UGH.  Which is why I have less time than usual.  Between the writing and the costume making, I haven't had a whole lot of time for blogging.  It's like my head is fuzzy from being filled with all the things I'm doing!

I hope everyone has a great weekend... check in next week for another teaser from Philip's Rules!

All the Things

There are so many things!!!

I've got DragonCon coming up in 57 days (ACK) and I'm not done with all my cosplays yet.  Not even close.  lol.  So I've got a lot of time going towards that right now.

On the flip side, I'm trying to get the Marriage Training book to the interested agent by this Friday.  Or, at least, most of it.  So there's a looooooooooot of work going into that right now, because that's where all my focus is.  Once it goes to the agent she sends it out to an editor and then I guess it comes back to me for changes and then we'll see where things go from there!  It'd be really cool to have a book that I hadn't self-published =)  Although, if no publisher ends up picking it up, that's what I'll do of course, so don't worry, you'll get to read it.  It's going to be very different from the Lit story though; much less dark, much less s/m, more traditional romance... so far I'm actually liking it a lot.   There's a lot more Gabriel, Vivian's got more of a personality and the school is much more interesting.  I've also already got an idea for a follow-up book.  Cuz you know, I need more ideas for books right now.  *sigh* LOL

After this Friday I'll be focusing back on Philip's Rules!  I'm glad everyone seems to have enjoyed the teaser - and the little teasers that I put up on Facebook =)  So far I'm really having a lot of fun writing the book and the early stuff that I've seen for the cover looks gooooooooorgeous.  I think it's going to be really good.  My goal is to finish it by the end of this month.  I think I'm about halfway through it right now, so I know I'll have it finished in August if I don't manage the end of this month, but I'd really like to do a July release if I can... and then I can get back to Stronghold for a bit =)  Leigh and Jared are swimming around my head.

I'm also going to get started on reader requests for Lit soon... I've just had so much going on that I haven't been able to start on those at all.  Free time?  What's free time?  I'm pretty sure that shit's a myth.

So yeah... that's what's going on in my world for now.  I'm a busy busy bee!

Teaser - Philip's Rules

Working hard on my new book!  Here's the first teaser (unedited) for Philip's Rules:

A knock at the door had Philip turning his head and Marshall growling under his breath as the stiffened fabric of the cravat was pulled in an incorrect manner.
"Come in," Philip called.
His butler opened the door and stepped inside.  "Mr. Hood has arrived, my lord."
A wave of relief flowed over Philip.  "Well I suppose if you've already let him in the door..."
With just a hint of a smile, the butler stepped to the side, allowing Felix to enter.  Third son of the Viscount Hood, Felix had no honorary title and was a mere 'mister,' however thanks to his investments in the railways, he was also a very wealthy mister.  His advice had also made Philip a tidy sum of money, which had saved the coffers of the Dunbury estates when he'd been new to the title.  They were the best of friends, and Philip had begun to doubt that Felix would arrive in time to stand beside him.
"Cutting it a bit fine, aren't you?" he asked his friend as Felix came in, standing and looking Philip over with a judgmental eye.  Whereas Philip relied on Marshall to keep him in the current style, Felix was something of a clotheshorse and one of the trendsetters among the young men in their set.  With his striking black hair and eyes so dark that they looked black as well, not too many could pull off the same colors and styles that Felix could, and many couldn't afford the level of his tailoring either.
Felix snorted at Philip's admonishment.  "Well I could have done with more notice."  He gave Philip a somewhat exasperated look.  "I was in Scotland you know, with no idea that you'd have some hare-brained idea about getting leg-shackled.  As it was, I had to leave a whole set of baggage behind."
"Oh the horror," Philip mocked, grinning.  Felix always traveled with twice as many clothes as he needed anyway.  Looking at him today, in his dark plum waistcoat, navy trousers and superfine jacket, no one would think he'd been rushed in his dressing.  "I didn't know I'd be getting married when you left for Scotland or I would have told you."
"So how'd she do it?" Felix asked, settling himself down in the chair across from Philip.  Some men would sprawl comfortably in such a casual setting, but never Felix.  He was never less than perfectly presentable.
"Do what?"
"Trick you into proposing, of course," Felix said, raising his eyebrow at Philip.  "Unless of course, you were caught in a compromising situation, although I hadn't heard anything to the effect.  But I have been in Scotland."
To Philip's amusement, Marshall shot Felix a dirty look.  Most of the time his best friend and his valet got on admirably, but his staff had been quite entranced by Cordelia, and Felix's insinuations had apparently struck a defensive nerve in the man.  Even more amusing, he felt quite pleased by it.
"She didn't trick me and she hasn't been the least bit compromised."
Well.  Mostly.  There had been some very passionate kisses exchanged in the past few weeks, but Philip had conducted himself admirably, considering how easy it would have been to sweep her away and... Remembering where he was and seeing how closely Felix was watching him, Philip shut down that line of thought.  Marshall gave Felix a superior kind of look as he finished off Philip's cravat and went to get his jacket.
"Well, I did hear she was a widow, so it would be hard to compromise her."
"A very respectable widow," Philip said.  Almost too respectable.  Keeping their encounters to kisses and caresses had done a number on his willpower, but it had been worth it.  In some ways, Cordelia was quite skittish.  While she wasn't an innocent, he didn't think she'd gotten much in the way of experience in the old Baron's marriage bed either.  Open-mouthed kisses had shocked her the first time, but she was quite eager with them now.  There was a passionate houri buried under her respectability, one which he was looking forward to unleashing tonight.
"Dear god," Felix exclaimed, rolling his eyes.  "You've become a romantic."
A small smile curved Philip's face as he held out his arms so that Marshall could help him into his jacket.  "Perhaps a bit.  You'll understand when you meet her."
Although Felix made a derogatory noise, Philip could tell that his friend was highly intrigued.  Despite the fact that Philip had shared his thoughts on marriage, after talking with Hugh and Edwin, Felix had remained unconvinced that Philip was serious - or that he would be able to find what he sought.
"All ready, my lord," Marshall said, smoothing down the lapels of Philip's jacket and giving him a last once over.  "May I extend the congratulations of the staff?  We're very much looking forward to you and your ladyship's return this evening."
"Very good, thank you, Marshall," Philip said with a nod of dismissal.  The staff couldn't possibly be looking forward to their return more than he was.  What had possessed him to agree to an afternoon wedding rather than a morning?  There was still at least half an hour before it would be time to leave for the church.  Ah yes... he'd been hoping to give the reprobate in front of him more time to arrive.
Seeing Philip's gaze landing back on him, Felix grinned.  "You're looking very good, old chap.  I'm glad to see Marshall's keeping you in tip-top shape."
"As if he would allow anything less," Philip said with a snort.  He gave himself one last glance in the mirror before turning away.  Although he knew he was good-looking, he wasn't given to Felix's kind of vanity.  "I have a favor to ask of you."
"Oh-ho," Felix said, his eyebrows rising.  Philip was not the type to ask for favors, usually preferring to do things on his own.  "And on your wedding day no less.  How can I refuse?"
Ignoring his friend's joking sarcasm, Philip pressed onward.  Today was too important for Felix's levity and he wanted to impress the seriousness of the situation on him.  "I need you to keep an eye on Cordelia's stepdaughter, Gabrielle today and keep her out of trouble."
Felix groaned.  "You want me to baby-sit some schoolroom miss?  What, you couldn't employ a governess to mind her?"
"Unfortunately, Miss Astley is too old for a governess," Philip said, a trifle grimly.  "Gabrielle is nineteen and about to embark on her first Season.  Cordelia and I will be postponing our honeymoon until the Season is over."
"Hoping to get the stepdaughter leg-shackled so you can have some privacy with your bride?" Felix asked with amusement, but his curiosity was obviously piqued.
Although Philip didn't want to denigrate his soon-to-be bride in anyway, even obliquely, he decided it was best to be entirely frank with Felix.  The man couldn't be too prepared to deal with Gabrielle, as far as Philip was concerned.  It was his private opinion that Gabrielle was the main reason that Cordelia hadn't received any offers of marriage before his, in the years since the Baron's death.
The little hussy had even had the nerve to throw herself at him when they were introduced, despite the fact that she'd just been told that he and Cordelia were engaged.  He could only count his blessings that she hadn't been at the house party where he'd met Cordelia and had been on a trip with a friend instead.  Making Cordelia's life more difficult seemed to be Gabrielle's main pursuit in life, despite Cordelia doing everything she could to make Gabrielle's life easier.
"If anyone will have her," Philip said.  "She's quite beautiful, but she's a viper, and she's wretchedly jealous of Cordelia.  It comes out at the worst times and in the worst ways."
"Make her dowry high enough and there will be plenty who don't care how waspish her tongue is."
"It's fit for a duke's daughter," Philip said quite seriously.  Felix let out a low whistle, seeing the grave expression on Philip's face.  "But for today, I just need to ensure that she does not cause a scene and that Cordelia has no reason for upset."
"Then I'm your man," Felix said with a loose salute.  Checking his fob watch, he got to his feet.  "We should be off, since you're apparently in earnest over this woman."
"Bloody right," Philip said with a grin, a little bubble of excitement filling him.  All his life he'd thought he would be apprehensive over his marriage, but the truth was that he couldn't wait to make Cordelia his.

Titles

So, this isn't exactly a teaser... and yet it kind of is.  RaineyCloud9 is working on book covers for me and I've had to come up with titles for the upcoming Stronghold and Bridal Discipline books.  In case you haven't been playing along at home, The Bridal Discipline series is going to be a spin-off of the Domestic Discipline Quartet; the first book features Hugh and Eleanor's cousin Philip Stanley, the Marquess of Danbury and his new bride Cordelia.  So the characters from the DDQ will show up now and then, but they're def side characters.  Still, it's fun to say hello =)

Anyway.  I'm going share the titles of upcoming books (along with my goal release dates)!  Granted, they are subject to change if I think of something better, but I'm really happy with the current line-up, so I don't think they're going to.  And, of course, each title is a hint about the book.  TBD = To Be Determined and TBA = To Be Announced... and there is def a difference, because TBA means I already know who, but I don't want to throw out that big a spoiler yet.  Suffice to say, the TBA has a name and has been mentioned in at least one of the Venus/Stronghold books and that's all I'm going to say.

Stronghold

Jared & Leigh's book (Fall 2015) - Breaking the Chain

Andrew & Kate's book (Spring 2016) - Bound to the Past

Michael & Ellie (Fall 2016) - Stripping the Sub

Olivia & TBD (Spring 2017) - Tempting the Domme

Stronghold Novellas

Jake & TBA - Hardcore Vanilla

Angel & Adam - A Stronghold Surprise

Jessica, Chris, & Justin - Venus in White

Bridal Discipline Quartet

Philip & Cordelia (Summer 2015) - Philip's Rules

Felix & Gabrielle (Winter 2016) - Gabrielle's Discipline

Arabella & Thomas (Summer 2016) - Arabella's Taming

Benedict & TBD (Winter 2017) - Benedict's Commands

Isaac & Lydia (Summer 2017) - Lydia's Penance

Now... looking above, those are ALL the Stronghold stories.  I might add another novella or two, but it's very possible I won't.  There is another small Stronghold novella series that I'm planning for the baby Doms in Olivia's class from Pieces of Stronghold, and those might end up being full-on books, but not entirely sure yet.  Also, I'm not 100% sure when the novellas will be out, as they'll be inserted in between some of the books.  It's possible Jake will get his own full-length book, rather than a novella, and he'll be the last man standing.  We'll see =)

As to the Bridal Discipline novels, those are all I have planned and then I'll be moving on to something else after that.

And, again, these are all goal release dates.  Life sometimes happens or things take longer than I think they will (or shorter, like Pieces of Stronghold did), but this is what I'm hoping for.  And in the midst of all of this, I'll still be writing stuff for the website, although I obviously don't write as frequently as I used to, and I'm also working hard on getting Marriage Training submitted to an interested publisher =P  It's getting an almost complete re-write to make it less dark, more romantic, and more traditional.  So far I'm really happy with what it's turning into and I'm really hoping that it might be available sometime next year (depending on how fast publishing stuff moves, I have no idea).

Anyway.  That's what's coming up in the series.  Feel free to speculate.... loudly. LOL.  I really do love hearing people's theories and, I won't lie, sometimes the theories make me start thinking in a diff direction than I was originally going.  More than once, a reader's comment has made me change my plot outline... plus I always just love knowing what people are thinking!

Next blog post will be a teaser for Philip's Rules =)
